Name: Mindy Mcready, AKA Hit Girl
Fandom: Kick-Ass
Timeline: Just after the events of the film
Age: 12
Appearance: Outwardly, Mindy is no different from any other twelve year old schoolgirl. She has dirty blonde, long wavy hair that she either wears down or in pigtails tied with bows, and she dresses fashionably for a young girl, when not in her school uniform. She is slim and lithe, and it takes a trained eye to see that she's obviously undergone strenuous physical training. When dressed as Hit-Girl, she dons a short purple wig and black cloth mask. She wears a purple plaid skirt over a lighter purple zip-up jumpsuit, and darker colored elbow-length gloves, sturdy boots and a cape. She wears a pink utility belt with the letters "HG" emblazoned on the buckle. She's often concealing bullet-proof body armor and as many weapons as she can manage on her person, but she hides them extremely well.
Abilities: Despite outward appearances, Mindy is incredibly deadly. She's undergone intense training since the age of five to enhance her speed, strength and resilience, and she's familiar with nearly every kind of weaponry imaginable, especially customized, outlandish bladed weapons and light handguns. She's mastered at least one martial art, capable in unarmed combat, but somewhat limited by her size in that respect, relying on dirty tricks or weapons to get the job done in most cases. She's also extremely skilled at turning an opponent's weapons against themselves, disarming them or causing them to injure themselves with great skill. On top of it all, she's an extremely good little actress when necessary, capable of playing the innocent young girl for as long as it takes to get her victims off their guard.
Personality: Mindy grew up fast. Any traces of little-girl sweetness are either well concealed, or entirely an act. She takes great pleasure in swearing and mocking her enemies, and she kills almost gleefully, and with great efficiency. Despite all this, she loved her father very much, and by the end of the film was even showing her softer side around Kick-Ass, the main character, despite having repeatedly mocked his lack of ability and training throughout the plot. She's often sarcastic and likes to joke with her father, occasionally pretending to morph into a normal little girl just to see the panic spread on his face when she asks for barbies on her birthday instead of military-grade armaments.
History: Hit Girl's story begins sometime before her birth. Her father Damon (who would later be known as Big Daddy) was a policeman of great skill and pride, bringing in numerous criminals with his partner Marcus. The local crime lord, Frank D'Amico, is unfortunately in control of many high ranking people in the police department where Damon works, and on his command, corrupt police officers enter his home and "find" a large amount of cocaine, successfully framing him as a drug dealer, much to the dismay of his wife.
Despite Marcus' repeated assurances of Damon's innocence, his wife can't take the strain of raising a child and living with the shame of being married to a drug dealer. Nine months pregnant, she attempts suicide by taking pills, and she's rushed to the hospital by Marcus.
Hit Girl's life began with death, as her mother's vital signs failed, she was born and named Mindy by Marcus, who was her caretaker until Damon returned from prison. Once he did, five years later, both he and Mindy disappeared without a trace.
You see, while in prison, Damon had been concocting a plan of revenge against the crime lord who'd framed him. He used every bit of money he had from his career, and his inheritance from his comic book artist father (a hobby that Damon himself had inherited) and used it to move the two of them from city to city and amass weaponry, all the while training himself and his daughter to become real-life superhero assassins.
For six years, Mindy trained, honing her body and her mind to face the dangers of combat. Damon made their mission into something that was almost a game, rewarding her by training her with more and more "fun" weaponry, and always stressing the importance of avenging her mother above all else.
When he deemed that they were ready, they moved to the city where D'Amico still reigned as criminal king. They used the sheer implausibility of superhero activity to manipulate several of D'Amico's important men, making it look like they'd embezzled drugs or money, and leading to their deaths at the hands of their own partners in crime.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the city a teenage boy was caught on tape fighting criminals in a superhero costume, and he became a viral video hit, known only as Kick-Ass. Damon was not impressed, but Mindy thought he had potential.
The two met up with Kick Ass in person when he was trying to convince one of D'Amico's top sellers, Rasul, to stop stalking a girl he was infatuated with. They'd been planning to kill Rasul as Hit Girl and Big Daddy anyway, and they went ahead with it, with Kick-Ass looking on, terrified as the young girl slaughtered everybody in the apartment with a pair of Katanas which locked together at the hilt to form a single weapon, and Big Daddy covered her with a sniper rifle from a nearby building.
The Kick-Ass situation worked out to Mindy and Damon's advantage, as D'Amico began to believe the well-known vigilante was the one who was attacking his men. In order to lure him out, D'Amico's son Chris posed as a new superhero vigilante, "Red Mist."
After Big Daddy burned down a warehouse used as a drug storage base, spoiling one plot by D'Amico to capture Kick-Ass, it's caught on a hidden camera that it's been Big Daddy attacking D'Amico's men all along, rather than Kick-Ass.
In order to prove that "being a hero is bad for your health", D'Amico manages to capture both Big Daddy and Kick-Ass, planning to film their unmasking, torture and death, and stream it live online. They tie the two of them to chairs and begin brutally beating them, and they pour kerosene over them. Before they can light the kerosene however, Hit Girl shot out spotlight they were using, the only light on in the large warehouse. Working with night vision goggles, a simple handgun and a knife, Hit Girl eliminated everyone in the warehouse, but a stray shot ignited the kerosene under Big Daddy, and by the time she can extinguish him, he was dying from the burns. His last wish was that she carry out their plan to finally eliminate D'Amico, and she enlists Kick-Ass to take Big Daddy's place in the attack.
She arrived at D'Amico's headquarters, a large upscale hotel downtown. Hit Girl removed her costume and entered the ground floor dressed as an innocent schoolgirl, crying and saying she'd lost her father. When the security guard approached her, she produced a concealed gun and killed him and the other two people on the bottom floor, changing back into her Hit Girl outfit and taking the elevator to the top.
Using speed, the element of surprise and a combat knife tied to a long rope, she killed or disabled all but three of D'Amico's thugs, while the mob boss and his son hid in his office. Outside the office, Hit Girl is pinned down in a kitchen area by gunfire, and one of the three thugs went to get a bazooka he'd taken earlier when they kidnapped Big Daddy. Before he could fire it, however, Kick Ass arrived, flying on a jet pack device Big Daddy had built for the operation, and he killed the three thugs with two miniguns mounted on the pack. After he was out of ammunition, he landed in the building and met up with hit girl, while the pair of them went off to find D'Amico and his son.
Kick-Ass chased D'Amico's son into his personal martial arts dojo, where the pair of them wound up knocking each other unconscious. Hit Girl fought unarmed with D'Amico, who managed to overpower her with his martial arts skills. He retrieved a handgun from the floor, but before he could kill Hit Girl, Kick-Ass reappeared with the bazooka, and the rocket carried D'Amico out of the building, where he exploded dramatically.
Afterwards, the pair of them flew home, and Hit Girl went to live with Marcus again, leaving her superhero ways behind her as she went to attend middle school.
Roleplay Sample - Log: Mindy woke up in an unfamiliar place, and quickly rolled out of bed, landing on hands and knees in the darkness without so much as a sound. Seeking cover, she scuttled under the bed, taking stock of her surroundings.
Bed. Walls. Door. No visible cameras, no visible signs of guards. That meant nothing, of course. There are always cameras, always guards. The real question was.... D'Amico's men? A revenge kidnapping? Or somebody else, and why wasn't she restrained? She'd obviously been drugged, or else she wouldn't have slept so deeply, and she had no recollection of the kidnapping. Clothing... in place, and underneath it all... yes.
She still had her Hit Girl outfit, complete with body armor. She took off her school uniform, tying the black mask around her face and adjusting her hair so it didn't hang below the purple wig. That oughta throw them for at least a little bit. Now for...
"Fuck. Dammit shit-cunt Jesus H motherfuck."
No weapons. But she always kept at least a...
She let out another whispered string of profanity. Even the butterfly knife was gone from the hollowed out husk of her pink hello-kitty cell phone. So her kidnappers weren't complete morons after all. Ok. Well, they were sure to be armed. If she could just take down one quietly, then she'd have whatever weapons they'd had.
Hit Girl poked her head cautiously out of a crack in the door, waiting silently until someone passed by, walking down the well-lit hallway. She silently opened the door, slipping into step behind them, muffling her soft footfalls with their own out of pure habit.
Hmmmmm... floating ribs, kidneys, spine, neck, occiput, knees or lung... it didn't really matter, she thought with a small smile on her lips. People were fragile things, and there were so many fun ways to break them from behind.
Roleplay Sample - Journal:
Dear Diar Hit Girl's Log
Day 2 of imprisonment. No outward exits. The chatter on the communication device indicates that I have been kidnapped for experimentation, and that I am on some sort of floating space station.
Turns out there are no guards, and very few people are armed to begin with. This is a setback. Talk of magic on the feed, as well as other super-heroes. Some kind of hero imprisonment facility?
Possible.
Met a cute boy yesterday. He even put up a pretty good fight after I got him in the kidneys, and he fought really well. I didn't mind that he gave me a bloody nose, because he got off much worse. Next time, I'll be sure to disable his arms as a first priority, although it may be a good idea to lead off with a knee dislocation, and also I have to see if someone has makeup I can borrow, I always liked how my lips matched my outfit and I don't even want to know how I must have looked after changing under the bed like that.
All in all, though, it's going alright. If this place is full of heroes, it shouldn't be too long until we get out, unless they all turn out to be as smart as Kick-Ass. There's got to be someone here with a bit of forward planning skills and intelligence, and if not...
Daddy always taught me to rely on myself.
Questions? Comments? Crazed and creative statements? Those go here: Nope. Other than extreme excitement to bring this character in. She combines all the fun of a cute little girl and a psychopathic murderer, and I just can't wait until she hits facility with everything she's got.
